The new tiers will be Burgundy, Silver, Gold and Platinum. Qpoints required to qualify for Silver tier will be 150 Qpoints, 300 Qpoints for Gold and 600 Qpoints for Platinum.
Existing Privilege Club and Burgundy members will be merged into the Burgundy tier, which becomes the base level of the programme and will no longer require requalification.
The following changes will be made to the Qpoints required to upgrade to higher membership tiers and renew top membership tiers:
• All members will be able to upgrade to the next membership tier based on the Qpoints earned within any 12 month period.
Currently, Qpoints earned in a calendar year (January to December) are considered for upgrades and renewals, after which Qpoints are reset to zero every January 1st.
As part of changes to our Programme, Qpoints earned within any 12 month period will be evaluated daily and members who have achieved the required Qpoints threshold will be upgraded. This means that members can be eligible for an upgrade all year round.
Upon upgrade to a higher membership tier, the period that a member enjoys their new membership tier will be exactly 12 months from date of upgrade.
For example, if a member upgrades to Silver tier on 12th September 2014, he will enjoy Silver status until 11th September 2015 (12 months).
Currently, Qmiles earned are valid for the current calendar year plus full 5 years, expiring on 31st December.
As part of changes to the Programme, all Qmiles earned from 4th October 2013 will be valid for a period of 3 years and will expire twice a year on the end of the semester in which those Qmiles were earned.
