Discontinuation of DB rail distribution through W2 Important update
Please be advised that Deutsche Bahn (DB) has discontinued the distribution of its train services through WorldTicket (W2) in the GDS, affecting both Interline and Codeshare bookings.
What you need to know?
- New bookings
New bookings for affected DB rail services via W2 are no longer available. - Existing bookings
Existing bookings containing a W2 rail segment in the PNR will be cancelled without replacement for travel from 15 October 2026 onwards, including bookings for travel in 2027.
This applies to:
1. Interline and Codeshare bookings hosted under W2 flight numbers
2. Rail&Fly bookings
3. Interline/Codeshare rail tickets, including those where passengers have already checked in via rail-checkin.com
Any affected rail tickets will no longer be valid following cancellation.
Alternative option for affected passengers
- Passengers impacted by a short-notice cancellation may request a complimentary train voucher, which can be redeemed directly with Deutsche Bahn for a train ticket.
- The voucher option is expected to become available through rail-checkin.com from 15 October 2026 at 18:00 CEST.
- This temporary solution is available only to passengers who already hold an issued flight ticket containing a rail segment. Eligible passengers will be identified using their e-ticket number.
- The voucher will enable eligible passengers to complete their rail journey to or from the airport in accordance with their original travel plans.
- Important: No rebooking or refund waivers apply as a result of the discontinuation of DB train services distributed via W2 in the GDS.
