Introducing Oryx Connect

Our New Distribution Capability (NDC) programme.

Qatar Airways is extending its five star experience to trade partners with the launch of our New Distribution Capability (NDC) programme, Oryx Connect.

Oryx Connect will offer next-level retailing for our joint customers. It will enable trade partners to access rich content including Fare Families and a selection of ancillary services.

How to get started with Oryx Connect

We welcome all trade partners to join Oryx Connect to benefit from full offer and order management capabilities from booking, servicing, ticketing and payment. This includes intuitive display of Qatar Airways’ Classic, Convenience, Comfort and Elite fares, helping them deliver the most suitable product offering to customers. They will also have access to variety of ancillary products and service offerings, such as select Preferred Seats and add Special Service Requests. Payment options include industry-standard settlement methods, such as ARC and BSP cash and card, and IATA EasyPay.

Our programme will offer three access options for you to harness the power of this new solution.

Oryx Direct

Interact with us via a direct connect API (Application Programming Interface), giving you access to our offers, flight availability, fares and ancillary products. This will require dedicated IT resources for the integration. In case you are interested to build a direct connect to Qatar Airways, please register your interest here and our team will contact you

Oryx Link

Connect through approved aggregators who combine NDC content from multiple airlines in their platform, These aggregators will offer you the opportunity to access our content without having to undertake extensive technical development or integration.

Qatar Airways content is already available through five approved aggregators with more to be added in the coming months. We plan to implement through the Amadeus Travel Platform in early 2022 followed by other GDSs.

Fast, free and easy access to NDC content and offers, available in 17 languages via our user-friendly and web based booking portal SPRK tool powered by Accelya Farelogix. Since this is web based and requires only an internet connection, technical integration will not be required and you can use without any implementation or setup fees.

Oryx Connect Capabilities

Full availability of our published flight schedules including codeshare flights
Ability to sell our published fares including easily identifiable Qatar Airways’ Classic, Convenience, Comfort and Elite fares, and benefits such as free seating and lounge access
Depending on the connection type, access rich content including images, videos and flight information with aircraft type, available cabins and interactive seat maps
Ability to sell a variety of our private fares for authorised sellers
Ability to sell ancillary products such as Preferred Seats and Extra Baggage Allowance*
Ability to add Special Service Requests (SSR) like wheelchair, special meals and others
Multiple payment methods in both BSP/ARC (including credit cards and IATA EasyPay) and non-BSP markets
Ability to service NDC bookings via Oryx Portal, including rebookings, cancellations and refunds

The NDC Standard

New Distribution Capability (NDC) is a travel industry-supported transmission standard launched by IATA for the development and market adoption of a XML-based data transmission, that will address the limitations of the current distribution technology.
