Your safety is our priority. Power banks, e-cigarettes and vapes have the potential to overheat, emit fumes and smoke or self-ignite and catch fire.

If you want to carry these items, never place them in your checked-in baggage. Only carry them with you inside the aircraft cabin by following the requirements below:

  • Do not charge your power banks, e-cigarettes or vapes on board the aircraft.
  • Do not move the seat if you drop a device in your seat. Inform cabin crew immediately.
  • Do not travel with any lithium battery powered equipment or power banks, that have damaged batteries, or have been recalled by authorities/manufacturers due to safety reasons. This includes using damaged or faulty cables onboard.
  •  Use in-seat USB ports or sockets where available, to charge your portable electronic devices (excluding power banks, e-cigarettes and vapes).
  •  Keep the power bank in view, if using it to charge other allowed electronic devices. (Do not stow them in your carry-on bag or in the overhead bins while charging these other devices).
  • Keep devices containing lithium batteries and loose batteries away from flammable items such as perfumes when placed inside your carry-on bag.
  • Inform staff immediately should your device overheat, emit smoke/fumes or catches fire.
  • Always apply safety caps or cover air vents on e-cigarettes or vapes to prevent accidental activation.
