Children travelling alone

If you’re planning for your child to travel alone, we’re here to make sure they enjoy their trip and that they are well taken care of throughout their journey.

When you book our unaccompanied minor service, your child will be received at the originating airport, taken care of during transit and while on board the aircraft. He or she will be handed over to the person designated by the parents/guardians upon arrival at the final destination.

To avail the unaccompanied minor service, an adult fare needs to be purchased for the child.

Escorting children

Qatar Airways also offers an escort service for children travelling alone. A dedicated airline representative will accompany your child throughout the journey. Please contact us at least 72 hours prior to the flight departure to request this service for your child travelling alone.

To be eligible for the unaccompanied minor service or escort services:

  • The child must be between the ages of 5 and 15 years (up to but not including the 16th birthday). Children under 5 years cannot be accepted.
  • The child must be travelling on Qatar Airways operated flights.

To avail the escort service for the child, Qatar Airways will also charge a return fare for the airline representative who will act as an escort for your child.

Does your trip include a flight with one of our partner airlines?
