Musical instruments

Musical instruments can be carried within your checked baggage allowance. However, if the dimension or weight exceeds the limit, extra baggage allowance may be purchased. Find out more about extra baggage rates here.

Alternatively, fragile musical instruments may be carried in the cabin, but they will require the purchase of a ticket for the seat they occupy.

The maximum weight allowed is 75kg per seat, and the maximum length is 120cm per seat. Any item that exceeds the weight/length limit will require another seat.

A maximum of 3 extra seats can be booked per passenger, in addition to the passenger's own seat, depending upon the aircraft seat configuration.

Travelling with our partners?

If your journey includes a flight with one of our partners, your baggage allowance may be different. Baggage allowances on code-share routes are determined by IATA's Most Significant Marketing Carrier (MSC) rule. If you have already booked your trip, the applicable baggage allowance is shown on your booking confirmation.

Where a code-share or interline flight is part of an itinerary that begins or ends in the USA or Canada, baggage allowances and charges applicable at the itinerary’s origin will apply throughout.

If your journey includes a flight with one of our partners, you can find more information about baggage specifications on their websites.
