DOHA, Qatar - Qatar Duty Free, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways, has announced the winners of two exciting draws this week. The first Millionaire draw of the year, conducted at the Doha International Airport, saw Alexandros Parissis, a Greek national, become the lucky winner of the coveted US$1 million cash prize. The excitement continued when Qatar Duty Free drew the name of Rodelio Leonardo, a Filipino national, making him the proud owner of a brand new Aston Martin V8 Vantage Coupe.
Winner Alexandros Parissis commented: “I never expected that I would win the Millionaire draw, this will completely change my life. I am extremely grateful to Qatar Duty Free for the chance to win such an amazing prize.”
The draws were conducted inside the Departures Area at Doha International Airport, and were presided over by Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer, His Excellency, Akbar Al Baker.
Mr. Al Baker said: “I offer my personal congratulations to the lucky winners. Qatar Duty Free has a long history of creating exciting moments for passengers entering the Millionaire and luxury car draws.
“The Qatar Duty Free Millionaire draw is a very popular promotion and this year, the raffle tickets were sold out in record time. The winning ticket numbers were Ticket 1700 for the Millionaire draw, and Ticket 1412 for the luxury car draw.
The US Dollar Millionaire raffle was launched in May 2006, giving passengers a great opportunity to win as each draw is made after 5,000 tickets are sold.
Departing and transiting passengers at Doha International Airport are able to purchase US Dollar Millionaire raffle tickets for QAR 950 each, and luxury car draw tickets can also be purchased from Qatar Duty Free.
