Qatar Airways Unveils New Global TV Commercials

Paris, FRANCE – Qatar Airways today unveiled its newest global television campaign promoting the airline’s expanding network of over 100 destinations worldwide and its award-winning cabin crew.

Launched at the Paris Air Show, the suite of commercials focus on the globalisation of the award-winning Doha-based airline and its fine hospitality.

The commercials go to air on leading international TV channels across Europe, Middle East, Asia Pacific and North America, effective today. (June 21)

The “Around the World” TV spot captures the sights and sounds of where the traveller wants to be. Filmed in various locations across the airline’s global network and featuring spectacular sceneries, the commercial visually communicates the many exciting travel options offered by Qatar Airways to today’s modern traveller.

Targeting leisure and business travellers, two variants of the “Beyond the Cabin” commercial, underscore the airline’s Five Star service and genuine warm hospitality and caring qualities of the airline’s cabin crew on the ground and in the air.

To reflect the airline’s ethnic diversity of its cabin crew, Qatar Airways casted crew members from destinations around the world, including the US, Australia, Russia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.

The commercials were created by Batey, a Singapore-based creative advertising agency. Highly regarded in creative circles for his stunning cinematography, Director of Cinematography, Michael Buckley, was behind the multi-million dollar campaign, which took six months to execute.

The commercials will be aired on all major global and regional news networks including BBC, CNN, Channel News Asia, Al Jazeera, Sky News, CNBC TV 18, Euronews, and TV5 Monde, as well as Discovery Channel, National Geographic and Orbit Showtime.

The campaign is also being promoted as an online contest on the airline’s web site www.qatarairways.com and Facebook page with open tickets to any of Qatar Airways’ destinations as prizes.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said: “This new campaign promises to showcase the fine hospitality and the true international flavour of our operations.

“With this new campaign, we portray the airline’s uncompromising dedication to the finest levels of service, and capture the sceneries and the vibrant hallmarks of the many exciting destinations that Qatar Airways flies to around the world.”

Qatar Airways’ latest global campaign promotes its rapidly-expanding international network, now covering over 100 business and leisure destinations across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, North America and South America. Last year, the airline’s cabin crew were voted Best in the Middle East for the seventh year running by leading industry audit Skytrax, which polled over 18 million international passengers.

So far this year, Qatar Airways has launched seven routes – Budapest, Bucharest, Brussels, Stuttgart, Aleppo, Shiraz and Venice – from its Doha hub.

  • MONTREAL, Canada: June 29          Debut in Canada with introduction of thrice-weekly flights
