Preparing for your departure from Tunis–Carthage Airport promises a modern and efficient experience as you begin your journey. Given the popularity of the airport, especially during peak tourist season, we recommend arriving at least two hours before your scheduled flight to allow ample time for check-in, security and customs checks.
Getting to the airport is straightforward, with excellent public transport options available. While there is no direct train connection, you can easily take Local Bus 35, which connects to the city and Tunis Marine train station in approximately 30 minutes. Alternatively, metred yellow taxis are plentiful, offering a quick 20-minute ride from the city. If you are driving, the airport provides good parking, with 2,500 spaces in the main area and an additional 500 outside Terminal 2.
Once inside the main terminal Departures area, you will find helpful and professional staff ready to assist you. The airport provides great facilities and amenities to enhance your wait. You can exchange local currency at currency kiosks and ATM machines located throughout the terminal. For some last-minute retail therapy, explore the Duty Free shopping and a selection of retail outlets selling accessories and luxury goods in the Departure lounge. When you need a refreshment, a food court offers local delicacies, snacks, and substantial international cuisine. A VIP lounge is also available in the Departures area should you wish to relax before your flight.
Sialkot, based in Pakistan's industrious Punjab province, is known as a major export-oriented city. It's globally renowned as a manufacturing powerhouse for world-class surgical instruments, leather goods and, most notably, over 70 per cent of the world's footballs. You'll feel the energetic, entrepreneurial spirit as you explore this commercial hub.
The city is also deeply rooted in history. Discover its rich heritage by visiting the ruins of Sialkot Fort, one of Pakistan's oldest fortresses, built in the 2nd century AD. As you roam around the city centre, marvel at the historic 19th-century Clock Tower, a prominent landmark in Iqbal Square. Sialkot's cultural heart is Iqbal Manzil, the preserved birthplace and former home of the great national poet and philosopher, Allama Iqbal. This location is now a fascinating museum and library dedicated to his legacy, where you can admire his renowned works.
