This itinerary guides you through a week-long journey in Vietnam, taking you from Hanoi in the north to Ho Chi Minh City in the south. Stop by key locations and hidden gems along the way, and prepare to create unforgettable memories wherever you go.

Days 1 and 2: Hanoi

Start your adventure in Hanoi, the country’s capital. Explore the streets of the Old Quarter, known for its delicious street food and small shops.

As you roam around the city, admire its distinctive architecture including the One Pillar Pagoda and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. In the evening, savour Vietnamese cuisine and see a cultural performance with traditional music and dance.

Day 3: Ha Long Bay

Get a glimpse of traditional Vietnamese life in Ha Long Bay. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is around three and a half hours from Hanoi, and known for its limestone caves, islands and floating villages.

Go on a cruise through the bay and its surroundings, and marvel at natural beauty as your boat passes through caves and grottoes. Enjoy serene views across the water in the evening, when the bay becomes quieter.

Day 4: Da Nang

Head to Da Nang, a city featuring plenty of cultural sites. You can walk across Dragon Bridge, which releases fire at night, or climb the Marble Mountains, a group of limestone hills with caves and carvings.

You can also take an hour-long road trip from Da Nang to Hoi An, filled with historic streets and merchant houses. While there, cycle through rice fields or watch the sunset on a boat ride along the Thu Bon River.

Day 5: The Mekong Delta

The Mekong Delta is a vast network of rivers, canals, markets and rice fields. Experience the local lifestyle on a boat ride through canals, lined with houses built on stilts. Soak up the region’s vibrant atmosphere at Cai Rang floating market, where you can browse for goods and sample local dishes.

You must try Cá Kho Tộ, a clay pot fish dish with a rich, caramelised flavour. You can also visit Vinh Trang Pagoda, celebrated for its blend of Vietnamese, Khmer and Chinese architecture.
