Buses stop on Sultan Qaboos Highway outside of the airport complex. Taxis are available, and a pre-booked limousine service is also available for passengers travelling with certain carriers.
Arriving in Muscat

Muscat itself is the "walled city", and the site of the royal palaces, while Matrah (Matruh), which was originally a fishing village and is now the location of the remarkable Matrah Souq. Muscat has plenty of open spaces too, and one in particular is popular with visitors. The Qurum National Park is also known as the Rose Gardens, and has spectacular displays of fragrant blooms all year round, as well as a man-made waterfall and lake.
