Child fares & baggage allowance
Your child's age at the date of departure for each flight on your journey determines whether they are eligible for an infant or child fare. Refer to the table below to check the applicable fare type depending on your child's age.
Infants less than 8 days old
Infants who are less than 8 days old may be accepted to travel under the following circumstances:
- When travel is required on Medical Grounds provided Qatar Airways Medical Centre approval is obtained using a MEDIF.
- When the mother is required to travel on compassionate grounds provided a Certificate is obtained from a Qualified Pediatrician indicating the infant is fit to travel and necessary travel documents for the infant is available.
Infants less than 2 years old*

* Eligibile infant age is 8 days until second birthday.
** Car seats may be used for infants and children aged between 6 months and 36 months only.
*** When travelling with 3 infants or more:
1) Each adult shall be responsible for one infant during the entire flight.
2) Any additional infant (e.g. 4 infants and 3 adults) must be accompanied by an additional passenger (at least 16 years of age).
Booking details of the accompanying passengers must be provided at the time of reservation.
Children aged 2 years and older

Families with children in a different cabin
In some instances, parents or guardians may wish to travel on the same flight but in different cabins.
Children between 5 and 11 years of age can travel in a different cabin on the same flight as their guardian or parent. Children who are less than 5 years of age should be accompanied by an adult who is at least 16 years and traveling in the same cabin as the child.

One stroller, collapsible carrycot, or pushchair per infant is accepted without charge.
