Taking the right steps will ensure that you enjoy a stress-free journey. Here’s what you need to do if your request is accepted:
1. Carry the approval documentation
Please ensure that you have all the documents required for your firearms and/or ammunition in the country you are departing from, flying to and/or transiting through. You must bring the following to the airport on your travel date:
- Firearm certificate
- Import/export licence.
2. Print the form
Please print at least one copy of the form attached to the email that you will receive from us. Remember to bring it to the airport because you must present it when checking in.
3. Sign the declaration
When you are at the airport, you need to sign the ‘Declaration of Surrender of Firearms’ shown below. This must be done in the presence of Qatar Airways staff before your flight departs.
- I confirm that I am in possession of all approval documentation required in the country I am departing from, flying to and/or transiting through.
- I understand that for security reasons, I cannot carry firearms and/or ammunition in the aircraft cabin.
- I understand that firearm(s) and/or ammunition will be placed in the aircraft hold.
- I confirm that the firearm(s) is/are unloaded.
- I confirm that the ammunition is classified as UN0012 and/or UN0014.
- I confirm that I am not carrying ammunition with a gross weight of more than 5kg.
- I confirm that the ammunition is packed in a durable, lockable container such as a wooden, metal or fireboard box.
- I confirm that no loose ammunition is packed in my hand or checked baggage.
