DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free, sponsors of the Qatar Total Open 2016, congratulate Carla Suárez Navarro, winner of the annual women’s international tennis tournament held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, after an exciting final match held on 27 February.
Part of the Women's Tennis Association Championships, the Qatar Total Open 2016 drew spectators from Doha and around the world, who came to watch the tennis world’s elite compete for the coveted title. The tournament this year featured seven of the world’s top 10 singles female tennis players, including Angelique Kerber, Simona Halep, Agnieszka Radwanska, Garbiñe Muguruza, Petra Kvitova, Belinda Bencic and Lucie Safarova.

Throughout the tournament, sponsors Qatar Airways and Qatar Duty Free invited spectators to take part in a range of family activities on offer at the Public Village inside the stadium. Fans were photographed posing in front of their favourite holiday destinations, including Qatar Airways’ soon-to-be-launched new destinations Sydney, Atlanta and Birmingham.
Visitors to the Qatar Duty Free pavilion discovered a range of luxury fashion brands available from the duty free retailer at Hamad International Airport, and were able to enter a draw to win an Audi R8.
Qatar Airways is one of the world’s leaders in sponsoring global sporting events from the recent Exxon Mobil Tennis Championships and the International Premier Tennis League - Asia, through to the airline’s high profile sponsorship of FC Barcelona.
