Doha, QATAR – Qatar Airways is proud to sponsor the CHI AL SHAQAB International Equestrian competition, a six-day event which will take place between the 10 and 15 March at the AL SHAQAB International Equestrian Club, Doha’s world-class equestrian venue.
The international equestrian competition, in just its second year, will see the world’s top riders compete across four different disciplines; Jumping, Dressage, Endurance and Vaulting. Members of the Qatari and GCC’s Royal Families are expected to attend, together with international VIPs of the equine sport and business world.
The exclusive equestrian market and strong Qatari bonds with equine heritage make for what will be a truly impressive event, with more than 10,000 spectators expected to visit the show, with all elements of the competition being broadcast live across major sporting channels.
The AL SHAQAB International Equestrian Club will also host a spectacular 9,000 sq metre plaza containing vendors, restaurants and entertainment suitable for all the family.
“Qatar Airways is delighted to lend its support to this leading equestrian event, which is set to see the elite of Doha society attending to soak up the atmosphere,” said Mr. Ehab Amin, Vice-President Commercial of the Doha-based airline.
AL SHAQAB International Equestrian Club was founded in 1992 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, to promote and enrich the nation’s traditional association with the Arabian horse. AL SHAQAB is a member of Qatar Foundation and serves as the Gulf’s premier venue for equestrian education, breeding and events.
