DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways brought its participation in Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2016 to a conclusion on 28 April, marking another successful year at the market-leading international travel and tourism event. Throughout the event, thousands of visitors experienced Qatar Airways’ renowned hospitality at its impressive two-storey stand, while exploring the potential to travel the world through the airline’s network of more than 150 destinations.

On day one of ATM, H.E. Mr. Al Baker held a press conference to announce the launch of a luxurious new lounge in Dubai International Airport, proof of the airline’s commitment to the local market and valued UAE customers.
During ATM, Qatar Airways welcomed industry leaders and dignitaries to its stand. H.E. Mr. Al Baker also took centre stage in a capacity-crowd session hosted by celebrity Chair John Strickland, to offer unique insight and updates on some of the industry’s hottest topics including innovation and security.
H.E. Mr. Al Baker also spoke about the impressive roster of new destinations Qatar Airways will launch in 2016. These include Adelaide (Australia); Atlanta (USA); Auckland (New Zealand) – the world’s longest flight; Douala (Cameroon); Helsinki (Finland); Krabi (Thailand); Libreville (Gabon); Lusaka (Zambia); Marrakech (Morocco); Nice (France); Pisa (Italy); Sarajevo (Bosnia); Seychelles; Windhoek (Namibia), and Yerevan (Armenia). Earlier this year, Qatar Airways began flying to Los Angeles (USA); Ras Al Khaimah (UAE); Sydney (Australia), Birmingham (UK), and Boston (USA).
On 28 April, coinciding with the official launch of Dubai International Airport’s new Concourse D, H.E. Mr. Al Baker hosted His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, around the newly-opened Qatar Airways Premium Lounge. Located on Concourse D, the lounge is available to Qatar Airways First and Business Class passengers and Privilege Club Platinum and Gold members. The Dubai Premium Lounge is a modern and sophisticated space where travellers can relax and rejuvenate before their journey. It is decorated with artistic Arabic calligraphy, Mediterranean-style tiles and calming water fountains, featuring private family areas, shower facilities, spacious seating areas and an international cuisine buffet.
