Book flights from Dubai to Erbil with Qatar Airways

Flying from Dubai

Dubai International Airport is the second-busiest in the world, and the main air transport hub in the Middle East.   The airport is an architecturally-striking building that ensures passengers have everything they need to make their journey as comfortable as possible.

Flights from Dubai with Qatar Airways take you from this incredibly busy international hub to destinations all over the world.

Transportation and parking

Short-term car parks are situated just a few metres from the terminal’s entrance, while longer-term parking is accessible in a nearby location. Public buses are available to take passengers from long-term parking facilities to the main terminals.

The clean and efficient Metro trains run roughly every 10 minutes to and from Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, and there are plenty of taxis available. Drop-off points are located outside the main terminal entrances.

Buses arrive and leave from stands opposite Terminal 1, 2 and 3, but you will need to buy a Nol card in advance as the drivers do not take cash.

Arriving at Dubai International Airport

Qatar Airways flights from Dubai depart from Terminal 1 at Dubai International Airport. However, Qatar Airways also flies from the new Dubai World Central Airport, so it is important to check which departure point your flight is leaving from.

To save time, visitors from countries that are granted automatic visas on entry to Dubai may find it useful to purchase an E-gate card to speed up immigration formalities. The E-gate card office is situated in the upstairs food court area of the Terminal 1 departures concourse.

Facilities and amenities

A 30-minute free Wi-Fi service is available for passengers, and longer access to the network is available for a small charge.

A comprehensive business centre offers a wide range of corporate services, and there are plenty of other facilities on offer including prayer rooms, baby care rooms, banks and medical services.

An excellent selection of retail outlets provide you with everything you could want from luxury leather goods to books and perfumes, while a choice of cafés and restaurants serve international cuisine, quick snacks and coffee.

Arriving in Erbil

The capital city of Iraqi Kurdistan is a stunning and historically significant location that offers visitors a warm and friendly welcome.

As it transforms itself from a small city into a growing and prosperous commercial centre, it is also expanding its tourism industry to make the most of ancient monuments, eclectic architecture and a rich culture.

Fly to Erbil with Qatar Airways and you’ll discover a thriving city that, while being an important capital still manages to retain that personal feeling.

The people are warm and pleased to greet visitors from around the world, while the fabulous sites date back some 7,000 years and are of international importance. This is a destination that, while being a little off the beaten track, is well worth discovering.

Tourist attractions

At the heart of the city lies the Citadel. An area of international significance, the Citadel is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the oldest continuously occupied human settlements in the world.

The mound that the citadel stands on is not natural, but the result of 7,000 years of human occupation, development and building.

Kurdistan is known for its extraordinary textiles, and the best examples can be seen at the Kurdish Textile Museum.

Not only are there some beautiful examples of tapestries, rugs, and artefacts, but the museum is also home to contemporary weavers keeping these ancient skills alive. Demonstrations happen every day, and you’ll find the museum curators to be incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.

At the Minaret Park stands the 36m high Mudhafaria Minaret, a 12th century minaret built during the reign of king Muzaffar Al-Din Abu Sa’eed Al-Kawkaboori.

Nearby you’ll also find a smaller, but equally beautiful tower covered with turquoise glazed tiles.
