Wander between Denpasar's striking landmarks to enjoy meaningful experiences shaped by the city's art, history and warm island spirit. You’ll step into a destination that blends tradition and modern flair, giving you a refreshing look beyond the island’s beach resorts.
Start your journey in Alun-Alun Puputan, a lively central square marked by an impressive statue with four faces, each pointing in a different cardinal direction on the compass. Then roam around nearby streets filled with markets where you'll find handicrafts and delicacies boasting authentic flavours. Denpasar is also dotted with remarkable temples for you to explore, including the Palace of Satria and the Royal Temples. The ornate Pura Maospahit, believed to date back to the 13th century, is known for its distinctive red-brick architecture.
To learn more about the island’s heritage, visit the Bali Museum, home to beautifully crafted artefacts showcased across four pavilions. Each section houses different types of displays highlighting Balinese history, from ancient stone and bronze pieces to intricate textiles and traditional performance art. Afterwards, head to the expansive Puputan Renon park and admire the iconic Bajra Sandhi monument, commemorating Bali’s story through powerful, detailed carvings.
