The following are the different programmes offered within the Qatarisation Programme:
Qatar Airways National Scholarships Programme provides financial and academic support to Nationals studying locally and overseas to achieve the skills required to successfully contribute to Qatar Airways Group. Students are provided support during their scholarship and will join Qatar Airways Group as Graduate Developees following the successful completion of their studies.
As part of this support, students are required to conduct one internship after their second and third year.
- Must be Qatari or have a Qatari mother.
- Must be 18 years or older and must complete their degree by the age of 29.
- Must have a Secondary School Education Certificate corresponding to Ministry of Education & Higher Education grading scale with an average of 80% or higher and 90% for Qatari mother.
- IELTS for Qatari: Overall score of 5.5 or above, no less than 5 in each component.
- IELTS for Qatari Mother: Overall score of 6.0 or above, not less than 5.5 in each component.
- Must pass the interview set by Qatar Airways.
- Current letter of unconditional offer from a university approved by the Ministry of Education & Higher Education in Qatar.
- Graduated High School male students must complete mandatory National Service. Students who are exempted from National Service must provide a proof of exemption.
The Graduate Development Programme is a one-year programme that provides development opportunities for Nationals that have recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree. It offers general aviation and role-specific development to help graduates gain the skills, competencies and behaviours required to effectively perform in a first line-management role across Qatar Airways Group after one-year of development.
- Must be Qatari or have a Qatari mother.
- Must be between 20 years and 28 years old.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an institution approved by the Supreme Education Council – Higher Education Institute.
- Must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or above.
- Must have Medical and CID clearance.
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Programme aims to develop skilled Qatari Engineers who will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of Qatar Airways’ fleet. The programme includes up to 18 months of foundational Math, Science and English (if required), 27 months of study at Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA), and an additional two years of on-the-job training. It is an opportunity for individuals who have strong technical skills and an interest to take a hands-on role in Qatar’s flagship airline.
- Must be Qatari or have a Qatari mother.
- Must be between age 18 and 26.
- High School Diploma with percentage results as follows:
1. Qatari candidates: 70% minimum average grade.
2. Qatari mother candidates: 75% minimum average grade.
- Candidates must pass all the entry exams of Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA).
- QAC Foundation English/Math placement levels (placement test results cannot be older than three months):
1. Qatari candidates: English/Math Level Intermediate and above.
2. Candidates with Qatari mothers: English/Math Level Intermediate and above.
- Must have Medical and CID clearance.
How to apply:
Students need go to Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) to do placement test in order to know which level they are in and submit all required documents.

The Cadet Pilot Programme aims to develop selected high calibre students into future professional airline pilots who will play a pivotal role towards the growth of Qatar Airways’ fleets. They will also receive a hands-on role in Qatar’s flagship airline. Successful Cadet Pilots will graduate with a Multi-Crew Pilot License (MPL) and a Bachelor’s Degree in aviation.
- Must be Qatari or have a Qatari mother.
- Must be between age 18 and 26 years at the time of commencing the MPL course.
- Must have a Secondary School Education Certificate corresponding to Ministry of Education & Higher Education grading scale with an average of 75% or higher (Science Stream).
- Minimum IELTS score of 4.5 overall and no less than 4.5 in each component.
- Must pass all the Placement Tests of Qatar Airways.
- Must pass the Qatar Airways interview.
- Must be able to obtain the QCAA class 1 medical.
- Must be able to obtain CID clearance.
- Graduated High School male students must complete mandatory National Service. Students who are exempted from National Service must provide a proof of exemption.

This programme provides developees opportunities for Airport Operations Management diploma graduates to pursue various roles within Hamad International Airport at various professional levels. This programme aims to provide developees with a well-rounded understanding of the activities required to successfully manage the different functions and customer experience within the airport.
The HIA Graduate Development Programme comprises of two different programme durations and varies between 2-3 years. The duration is dependent on the selected programme stream.
- Must have an Airport Operations Management Diploma from Qatar Aeronautical Academy (QAA) sponsored by Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA).
The Aviation Management Programme is a one-year programme that provides an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals in non-aviation industries to enter management roles within Qatar Airways. It more specifically offers commercial and corporate career paths for ambitious Qataris who want to build a long-term career in aviation.
- Must be Qatari or have a Qatari mother.
- Must be between age 24 and 28 years.
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably Master’s degree.
- Have 4 years of working experience including 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills in both spoken and written Arabic and English.
- Must be able to obtain CID clearance.
This is a unique programme designed to offer a combination of classroom training with practical on-the-job placement experience. The majority of the training will be hosted in Doha (10 modules in Doha) and two modules will be delivered in Geneva Switzerland. Upon completion of the programme and all required on-the-job training, graduates will be offered positions across the Qatar Airways global network of outstations in different areas of the business. This is an in-depth training programme that could lead to a pathway towards an executive MBA.
- Must be a Qatari national.
- Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree issued within the last five years, with a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3 from an institution approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
- Must be fluent in English with a proficiency certificate IELTS 6.5 or equivalent competency in both written and spoken English at an academic level.
- Must have Medical and CID clearance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Qatar Airways Summer Internship Programme is designed to provide Qatari Nationals the opportunity to gain insight into the airline industry and get a better understanding of Qatar Airways’ practices and values. The programme is aimed at giving the interns a chance to work on tasks, be involved in day-to-day activities, and projects. In addition, interns will be able to acquire skills and behaviours necessary in a workplace. During Summer Internship placement, interns are paired with Line Managers from the business who are accountable for providing mentoring and guidance to the intern.
The programme is primarily in place for the development of sponsored students. However, other students may apply to the programme.
- Must be Qatari or have a Qatari mother.
- Must be enrolled in, or have graduated from an academic institution in Qatar, where the study scheme is in English language.
- Undergraduate students should have finished at least 60 credit hours with not less than an overall GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Must have an overall IELTS score of 5.5 or above.
- Be self-sponsored or sponsored by HEI.
- Should pass an interview set by Qatar Airways.
