Highlights
As Pierre mentions in their article, Qatar is “one of the most accessible countries in the world […] It’s very easy to get around, go to restaurants, and enjoy cultural or more sporty activities in the desert!” With a wide range of activities available to everyone, what can you do during a layover?
“The main walkways are paved with gentle slopes, and whether or not you have a front wheel, you’ll have no trouble getting around. Ramps are available at the entrances of cultural buildings, and accessible restrooms are provided in several areas. If needed, there are even free adapted golf carts with ramps.” - Pierre
In Mina, “everything is so perfect that it feels like a movie set! For street art lovers, it’s the ideal spot. They brought in many artists to decorate the façades. Head down to the port to watch the sunset behind the skyline!” - Myriam
“For a timeless moment, visit Souq Al Wakrah on Friday morning during prayer. The shops are closed, and you're free to wander through the alleyways at your own pace.” – Pierre
Detailed itinerary

While traveling the world, this couple often passed through Doha without ever leaving the airport. This time, they tried our stopover program, which allows travelers to explore Doha starting from just $14 per night. Myriam and Pierre stayed in a high-end hotel near The Pearl district.
The Grand Hyatt Doha, available from €150 per night, is fully wheelchair accessible. The room includes a bathroom with a walk-in shower, a wall-mounted seat, and support bars around the toilet. The bed is approximately 60 cm high. The terrace is easily accessible.

Doha’s metro system is modern and well-developed, making it easy to get around the city. A single ticket costs just 2 QAR (around €0.50), and unlimited travel day passes are also available. Taxis are affordable too — we recommend using the Karwa app. The fleet includes accessible vehicles equipped with ramps and floor anchoring systems. Drivers can stay with you as long as needed for multiple stops. For instance, Pierre and Myriam used one for 5 hours at a cost of €40
