Family & Friends Programme is part of the Privilege Club which offers exclusive benefits and offers to Group Members (as defined herein). These Terms and Conditions and the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions govern your participation as a Group Member of the Family & Friends Programme. You should read them together carefully.

These Terms and Conditions are effective from the date of their publication. Qatar Airways may change any of these Terms and Conditions, as well as the operation or Benefits of the Family & Friends Programme, at any time at its own and absolute discretion. While prior notice of changes to these Terms and Conditions may not always be possible due to operational or other considerations, Qatar Airways will endeavour to give you reasonable notice of any material changes.

Except as otherwise provided in these Terms and Conditions by specific reference to the applicable provision of the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions, if any provision contained in these Terms and Conditions is in conflict with, or inconsistent with, any provision in the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions, the provision contained in these Terms and Conditions shall prevail to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.

Capitalised terms used herein without definition shall have the meanings assigned to them in the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions. 

3.1 All existing or new Main Members can invite up to six (6) people to join their Family & Friends Group. Any existing Main Members who have already enrolled more than six (6) Group Members prior to these Terms and Conditions become effective, can continue to maintain their Group Members up to nine (9). The additional Group Members can be removed (de-linked) at any time in accordance with section 6 below. Once the additional Group Members are removed from the Family & Friends Group, the Family & Friends Group shall maintain a maximum limit of six (6) Group Members. 

3.2 Family & Friends Group includes children over two (2) years, infants are not permitted to be included in the group.

3.3 If you are already part of another Family & Friends Group or a Main Member of an existing Family & Friends Group, you will not be eligible to start a new Family & Friends Group. 

3.4 For adult nominees (ages eighteen (18) years and above), as a Main Member, you must send an invitation to the nominee to join your Family & Friends Group via personal email using a QR-generated link.

3.5 The nominee must accept the invitation to join your Family & Friends Group by clicking on the link provided and submitting his/her application including personal details. 

3.6 As a Main Member, you will be receiving a status update once your nominee(s) has submitted his/her application and requires your approval to complete his/her registration.

3.7 Children under the age of eighteen (18) years can only be added to the Family & Friends Group if their parent or guardian is either the Main Member or a Group Member. 

3.8 By creating or joining Family & Friends Programme, you are required to agree to these Terms and Conditions. Membership application may be granted or refused at the sole discretion of Qatar Airways. 

3.9 Upon successful addition to Family & Friends Group, each Group Member will receive an individual Membership Number. Group Members will receive only a digital Membership card shared to them through email and also accessible from the Main Member’s profile.

3.10 As a Main Member you can update most of the Group Members details online from your dashboard under “My Profile” section on qatarairways.com/PrivilegeClub. To update your or your Group Member name or date or birth, you must submit a separate service request to Qatar Airways which can be completed from your logged-in area.

3.11 As a Main Member, you may invite a new member to your Family & Friends Group at any time, provided there is an available slot.

4.1 Subject to section 4.3 below, Group Members are able to earn Avios through Qatar Airways and its Partners. All Avios earned by Group Members will be added to the Main Member’s Account only after travel is completed for the flight(s) or as stated in section 8.5 of Privilege Club Terms and Conditions. The Main Member retains full control of the Account, including the sole authority to redeem any Avios.

4.2 Flight and non-flight activities by Group Members do not earn Qpoints.

4.3 Group Members will earn only base Avios for any eligible activity. Group Members will not earn additional or bonus Avios which is based on Main Member’s tier specific.

4.4 All Avios earned by child Members will be contributed directly to the Main Member’s Account.

5.1 Only the Main Member can redeem Avios for Award. The Main Member may redeem Avios for Award for any of the Group Members in his/her Family & Friends Group.

6.1 All Group Members who join a Family & Friends Group are subject to a six (6) month Lock-in Period. During this time, they cannot leave or be removed from the group.

6.2 Removal After Lock-in Period:

6.2.1 Only the Main Member, can remove his/her Group Members.

6.2.2 If you are an adult Group Member (ages eighteen (18) years and above) and wishes to start earning Avios and Qpoints as a Main Member outside of the Family & Friends Group after the Lock-in Period, you may request the Main Member to remove you from the Family & Friends Group. 

6.2.3 Once removed, you will receive an email notification with instructions to complete your individual sign-up to Qatar Airways Privilege Club by creating a password and logging in to your own account.

6.3 In exceptional circumstances, if you are an adult Group Member (ages eighteen (18) years and above) and wishes to start earning Avios and Qpoints as a Main Member outside of the Family & Friends Group before the Lock-in Period ends, you may contact the Qatar Airways Contact Center to request early removal from the Family & Friends Group. Approval of such request is at the sole discretion of Qatar Airways.

6.4 If a Group Member is removed from the Family & Friends Group before the Lock-in Period ends under an exceptional approval, his/her slot will remain unavailable for reuse for a period of six (6) months from his/her original enrollment date.

6.5 In the event that a group member who is the parent or guardian of a child is removed, the associated child member under the age of eighteen (18) years shall also be automatically removed irrespective of whether the child is within the lock-in period.  

6.6 Upon removal by the Main Member and acceptance of your request for removal by Qatar Airways, you will be separated from the Family & Friends Group. All Avios accrued prior to separation will remain in the Main Member’s Account. Your new Account will retain your existing Membership Number, and you will begin at the Burgundy Membership Tier.

7.1 Qatar Airways reserves the right to audit and monitor Family & Friends Group accounts for suspicious behavior, including but not limited to unusual patterns of Avios accruals or redemptions. In exceptional cases, if such behavior is detected, Qatar Airways may take corrective action, which may include temporarily or permanently suspending the Accounts or blocking the ability to earn or redeem Avios for the entire Family & Friends Group. These actions will be taken at the sole discretion of Qatar Airways and may be implemented without prior notice.

7.3 These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Qatar. Any dispute arising in connection with the Family & Friends Programme shall be submitted to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the State of Qatar to resolve such dispute. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, Qatar Airways shall have the right to initiate proceedings before any competent courts worldwide, as Qatar Airways deems it fit.

7.4 Qatar Airways may in its sole and absolute discretion terminate or suspend membership to the Family & Friends Programme, or end the Family & Friends Programme for any reason whatsoever at any time, without incurring any cost or liability as a result of exercising this right.

7.5 Qatar Airways shall not be liable for any kind of loss or damage, including (without limitation) any loss or reduction in a Family & Friends Programme’s advantages and any detriment or disadvantage, resulting from any alteration to, suspension or termination of the program. 

7.6 The limitations and exclusions of liability referred to in the Conditions of Carriage shall apply in relation to Group Members’ travel with Qatar Airways. 

7.7 In order to join the Family & Friends Programme and avail any offers in relation thereto, it is necessary for Qatar Airways to process each Group Member’s personal data for the performance of these Terms and Conditions, in accordance with section 26 [Your Personal Data and security of your Account] of the Privilege Club Terms and Conditions and Qatar Airways’ Privacy Notice. 

7.8 Qatar Airways and its Partners do not guarantee the availability and / or continuity of any offer or other benefits which can be varied from time to time.
