DOHA - Qatar Airways has recognised the efforts of Qatar travel agents during the last year, in a glittering ceremony for the local travel industry held in the Sheraton’s Al Shaheen restaurant today.
Qatar Airways’ General Manager Commercial Mr Mohamed Saleh Fakhri presented awards to 10 of the best performing travel agents in Qatar, in a ceremony that was attended by Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Noaimi, Qatar Airways’ Regional Manager Qatar and North Africa Mr Fathi Al Shehab and Area Manager Qatar Mr Ehab Amin.
Mr Fakhri announced that the best performing travel agents in the last year were:
- Gold Award: Regency Travel and Tourist
- Silver Award: Tourist Travel Bureau
- Burgundy Award: Cleopatra Travels
“Qatar Airways’ great success rides on the work and the performance of travel agents in Qatar, and elsewhere in the world,” said Mr Fakhri.
“Qatar Airways would like to pay tribute to all the travel agents in Qatar who through their hard work every day have contributed to the growth and international reputation of our national flag carrier.
“In particular I would like to praise the top 10 performing agents and congratulate the three winners for their outstanding performance.
“We have clearly shown that by working closely together as trusted business partners that Qatar Airways and travel agents can both reach the skies of success.
“I can promise our mutual customers that as Qatar Airways’ builds an international route network of 60 destination in the next two years, we will continue to offer one of the best airline services in the skies,” said Mr Fakhri.
Qatar Airways presently flies to 48 destinations and already has announced that it will start new services to Istanbul in Turkey, Luxor in Egypt, Zurich in Switzerland and Kabul in Afghanistan.
