DOHA – Lebanese singing legend Majida Al Roumi arrived last night at Doha International Airport on Qatar Airways flight QR423 from Beirut.
Qatar Airways’ Chief Executive Mr. Akbar Al Baker commented on the occasion:
“We are very proud that stars of the calibre of Majida Al Roumi choose to fly Qatar Airways.
“Being Qatar’s national carrier, it is a great pleasure for Qatar Airways to be able to bring this Arabic star into our country to delight the people with her performance.
“Majida Al Roumi’s career has spanned decades of great success, starting from a young age singing with her equally famous father Halim Al Roumi, who was privileged to have performed with the legendary Farouz, to performing in venues all over the world.
“Qatar is opening its doors not only to tourism, conferences and major sports events, but increasingly to international culture. The Doha Cultural Festival is a great asset to Qatar and its people and we are proud to be playing our part.
“Inviting a variety of artists, singers and actors from all over the world and different parts of the Middle East to Qatar, will not only bring a lot of enjoyment and entertainment to the people, but will also enhance cultural understanding and appreciation amongst the residents of Qatar.
“It makes us very proud that cultural ambassadors, such as Majida Al Roumi, choose our airline to come to Qatar, “ Mr. Al Baker said.
Majida Al Roumi will be performing at the Ritz Carlton, Doha on Friday, March 12 at 9.30 pm.
