Qatar Airways Launches World's First Instant Frequent Flyer Enrolment Kiosk

London, UNITED KINGDOM – Qatar Airways has announced another world first with the launch of an instant frequent flyer enrolment kiosk for new Privilege Club members at Doha International Airport.

Located in the Qatar Airways Business Class lounge at the airport, the kiosk dispenses membership cards within seconds of passengers completing their registration details when signing up for the card.

Using simple touch screen technology, the kiosk enables Qatar Airways’ Business Class passengers using the lounge, who are not already members, to instantly enrol into Privilege Club and receive a 500 Avios welcome bonus.

Within seconds of signing up, the kiosk processes the data and delivers their Burgundy card on the spot with their personalised membership number and name laser printed.

Announcing the new service for frequent flyers during World Travel Market in London, Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the kiosk was yet another service-led initiative from the airline.

“Qatar Airways is proud to be innovators, offering passengers unique levels of service which the industry can only talk about with envy,” he said.

“The Privilege Club enrolment kiosk we have introduced at Doha International Airport enables passengers who are not already members to enrol easily, quickly and receive their loyalty card instantly. This is a unique feature, which we believe many passengers will take advantage of. “

The kiosk is yet another unique service being offered by Qatar Airways for loyal customers travelling in the premium cabins.

Qatar Airways is just weeks away from opening its brand new Premium Terminal for exclusive use by the airline’s First and Business Class passengers at Doha International Airport.

“The Premium Terminal is the world’s only passenger terminal dedicated to First and Business Class passengers and we look forward to welcoming our loyal customers to use this wonderful facility – and convert other passengers to choose flying Qatar Airways,” added Al Baker.

The new US$90 million facility, built in just nine months, will feature a spa, jacuzzi, fine dining restaurants, together with duty-free and exclusive check-in for premium passengers flying with Qatar Airways.

The Premium Terminal will be ready in time for the 15th Asian Games taking place in Doha between December 1 – 15. Qatar Airways is the Official Airline and Prestige Partner of the Asian Games, which promises to be the biggest ever in Games history.

Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club recently won three accolades at the annual Freddie Awards – for Best Elite Level Programme, Best Website and Best Bonus Promotion.

Qatar Airways recently relaunched the Privilege Club website to provide members with greater benefits and easier management of their accounts.

Through the Privilege Club website, www.qatarairways.com/privilegeclub members are able to log on and check their account balance online, as well as request reward tickets for travel on Qatar Airways and partner airlines.
