Dubai, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Qatar Duty Free, a subsidiary of Qatar Airways, has launched its biggest ever jackpot raffle prize giving lucky passengers the chance to win US$1million in its new millionaire draw.
Passengers flying to and from Doha International Airport will be able to purchase raffle tickets, each priced at QAR950. Purchases can be made on departure, arrival, as well as the VIP area of the airport.
For every 5,000 tickets sold, Qatar Duty Free will conduct a draw within the duty free shopping area at Doha International Airport in the presence of passengers and the glare of international media.
One lucky person will emerge as an instant Dollar Millionaire.
Qatar Duty Free is not restricting the initiative to just one draw. Passengers will have the chance to win the jackpot prize each time 5,000 tickets are sold.
Qatar Duty Free and Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the US$1million draw would be the biggest-ever cash prize in the history of the company and, indeed, in the State of Qatar.
“We are extremely delighted to launch this exciting new initiative which promises to appeal to passengers flying to and from Doha International Airport, as well as transiting through the airport.
“Qatar Duty Free has enjoyed tremendous success since launching the Qatar Riyal Millionaire raffle draw three years ago. Today, we are pleased to take a step further by announcing the launch of yet another prize draw, which gives passengers the opportunity to win a mammoth US$1million and become an instant millionaire.
“This is a cash promotion that we have been working on for some time. Doha International Airport today handles around 8 million passengers a year, representing an average 35 per cent growth year on year. So more passengers have the opportunity to purchase these wonderful tickets.”
