Electronic devices on flights to the United States
Effective 21 March 2017, in accordance with new US government regulations, all passengers travelling on United States-bound flights are prohibited from carrying any electronic devices on board the flight other than cellular and smart phones and medical devices needed during the flight.
Qatar Airways has made special arrangements to assist passengers in securing their devices in the aircraft’s baggage hold. These will be tagged, loaded as check-in baggage and returned safely to the customer on arrival to the US.
Prohibited devices, including laptops, tablets, DVD players and electronic games, must be carried in checked luggage only.
Qatar Airways 'Laptop Loan' service
Qatar Airways is working to ensure compliance with the recently imposed electronics restrictions, while doing its utmost to minimise the effect on customer experience. With this in mind, the airline has introduced a special laptop loan service for Business Class passengers travelling to the United States from Doha and US-bound passengers transiting in Doha.
This service gives Business Class passengers the option to use laptops loaned by the airline as they travel on Qatar Airways flights – meaning uninterrupted productivity and service throughout their journey. Complimentary laptops will be available for use on all US-bound flights and can be collected after boarding.Browse FAQs
