We understand that travelling during pregnancy may raise questions. To help you prepare for your journey, please review the travel requirements and documentation guidelines below.
Do I need any medical documents before travelling?
Your safety and wellbeing are important to us. We recommend consulting your doctor before travelling and following any medical advice provided. Depending on the stage and circumstances of your pregnancy, you may be required to present a medical certificate and/or submit a Medical Information Form (MEDIF) before travel.
If you are required to submit a Medical Information Form (MEDIF), please ensure it is submitted at least 48 hours before departure.

Medical certificates must be completed by your doctor no more than 10 days before your initial departure date and brought with you to the airport on the day of your journey. Your doctor can issue a medical certificate in any format, provided it includes all of the required information listed below.
Medical certificates must be written in English and include the following information:
- Patient's name and date of birth
- Last Menstrual Period (LMP) and Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD)
- Gestational age on the day of examination
- Proposed dates of air travel
- Confirmation of an uncomplicated single pregnancy or an uncomplicated multiple pregnancy
- Confirmation that patient is fit to travel* for the entire journey, including return (where applicable)
- Date, stamp and contact details of the medical attendant
- Certificate must be dated within 10 days of the passenger's initial departing flight and remains valid for the entire journey
* Qatar Airways must be informed of any change in the mother's status or requirement at least 48 hours before departure.
- Form must be filled in English.
- Form must be submitted to Qatar Airways no less than 48 hours and no more than 7 days before flight departure.
- If no new MEDIF is required for the return flight, this will be indicated within 'Part 2' of the form as 'Approved (full journey)'.
Please carry all required medical documents, including your Medical Certificate and/or Medical Information Form (MEDIF), throughout your journey, where applicable.

- Request mobility assistance services, where required.
- Select your seat, subject to availability.
- Request a special meal, if required.
If requested, our airport teams can assist with:
- Providing priority boarding
- Helping you identify airport facilities and services at HIA to relax. For other airports, please visit the airport website.
- Assisting with seat assignment near the lavatory for easier access and to comfortably move about in the aircrfat cabin., subject to availability.
Your comfort and wellbeing are important to us. During your flight, we recommend moving your feet and legs regularly, particularly on longer journeys, and staying hydrated.
Our cabin crew are available to assist with:
- Providing a seatbelt extension, if required, and explain how the wear it.
- Providing drinking water during the flight.
- Providing pillows and blankets, subject to availability.
