QATAR AIRWAYS SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES PARTICIPATION AT INDIA AVIATION SHOW 2016

HYDERABAD, India – Qatar Airways’ participation at the India Aviation Show 2016 concluded on a high note with the airline bringing the very first A350 to India and welcoming hundreds of guests at the airline’s impressive chalet.


The ultra-modern A350-900 aircraft was centre-stage and was a major attraction for all visitors, including officials from the aviation industry, media, trade partners, and aviation enthusiasts.


Commenting on the successful participation at the Indian Aviation Show, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker said: “It gives me great pleasure to see Qatar Airways playing a significant role in the India Aviation 2016 and having our A350 be the centre of attention. India is a very important market for Qatar Airways and we look forward to introducing new routes and operations catering to the demands of Indian travellers.”


H.E. Mr. Al Baker also updated the media on Qatar Airways’ plans for India and the new routes the airline plans to launch globally. Qatar Airways has been steadily growing its presence in India over the last 19 years of its operations.


The airline now serves 13 Indian cities with an overall frequency of 102 passenger flights and 30 freighter services each week.


Qatar Airways has already launched four destinations this year – Los Angeles (USA), Ras Al Khaimah (UAE), Sydney (Australia) and Boston (USA). Over the next few months, the network will continue to expand, adding: Atlanta (USA); Adelaide (Australia); Auckland (New Zealand) – the world’s longest flight; Birmingham (UK); Chiang Mai (Thailand); Douala (Cameroon); Helsinki (Finland); Krabi (Thailand); Libreville (Gabon); Lusaka (Zambia); Marrakech (Morocco); Nice (France); Pisa (Italy); Sarajevo (Bosnia); Skopje (Macedonia); Seychelles; Windhoek (Namibia); and Yerevan (Armenia).


In addition to hosting hundreds of visitors to the airline’s A350, and welcoming hundreds more to its chalet, H.E. Mr. Al Baker participated in a closed-door session with other industry, government and aviation leaders, to discuss current issues and events.
