Tax application for Maldives
The following taxes are applicable for all customers travelling on Economy class from Velana International Airport, Malé (MLE) - Maldives.
- Airport Development Fee (H9):
Maldivian Nationals: USD 12
Foreigners/Non-Maldivian Nationals: USD 50
- Maldives Airport Fees (BQ):
Maldivian Nationals: USD 12
Foreigners/Non-Maldivian Nationals: USD 50
Tax refund for Maldivian Nationals
If you are a Maldivian passport holder and you have paid the Airport Development Fee (H9) and Maldives Airport Fees (BQ) in full (USD 50 each) when you purchased your air ticket, you can apply for a refund of the tax difference of USD 38 each.
To request for the tax refund, email us on mlereservations@mv.qatarairways.com with your ticket details along with a copy of your passport and our team will be in touch within 3 working days.
Terms & conditions
- Tickets must be purchased on/after 1 December 2024 for travel on/after 1 December 2024 for H9 tax refund.
- Tickets must be purchased on/after 1 December 2024 for travel on/after 1 December 2024 for BQ tax refund.
- Refund can be claimed only for tickets purchased on qatarairways.com.
- All claims will be refunded back to the same credit card that was used for purchase of the ticket.
- Refund claim must be submitted along with the following documents;
- Ticket copy or ticket number
- Clear passport copy
