Qatar Airways Privilege Club Signs United Airlines As Loyalty Partner

Doha, QATAR – Award-winning Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, and US-based United Airlines have launched a partnership linking their respective frequent flyer programmes.

Under the agreement, members of Qatar Airways’ Privilege Club loyalty programme will be able to earn Avios on all scheduled flights operated by United Airlines and its subsidiary units, United Express and Ted.

Privilege Club members will also be able to redeem their Avios for flights on United Airlines, United Express and Ted to over 200 destinations within the United States and across United’s international network covering South America, Asia and Europe.

The tie-up is part of Qatar Airways’ ongoing strategy to provide its most loyal customers holding Privilege Club membership with greater opportunities to earn and redeem Avios.

Privilege Club members will earn a minimum of 500 Avios for flying on United. In addition, they will be able to earn Avios on United Airlines as follows: -

- 300% of the actual miles flown in First Class
- 200% of the actual miles flown in Business Class
- 100% of the actual miles flown in Economy Class

All Privilege Club members – whether they hold Gold, Silver or Burgundy status – also have the opportunity to secure cabin upgrades on Qatar Airways flights with their accrued Avios.

In addition, members of United Airlines’ Mileage Plus programme will now be able to earn miles on Qatar Airways.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said he was delighted to see a well-established force in the international aviation industry become the airline’s latest partner.

“This partnership with United Airlines reinforces our commitment at Qatar Airways to provide our loyal customers with additional benefits and more opportunities to accumulate Privilege Club Avios faster,” he said.

“We welcome United Airlines as a key partner and look forward to welcoming their most loyal Mileage Plus members on our flights and enjoy the high levels of service we have been recognised for around the world.”

Qatar Airways is one of a select-few airlines in the world ranked a Five Star carrier by Skytrax, the independent aviation industry monitoring agency. Skytrax also named Qatar Airways’ cabin crew as Best in the Middle East for the third year running in 2005 and fifth best in the world following a survey of more than 12 million passengers worldwide.
