Old Delhi

Begin in Old Delhi at the spectacular 17th-century Red Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Then head south to Qutb Minar, a UNESCO-listed complex featuring a soaring 72.5m minaret.

In the evening, soak up the lively atmosphere at India Gate, or stop by the striking Lotus Temple to enjoy a calmer ambience.

Cultural highlights

Make your way across the city to admire several Delhi tourist attractions. Roam around Hauz Khas Village to marvel at medieval ruins or relax at a serene lake with boutiques, bookshops and cafés.

Sample Tibetan and Himalayan cuisine in Majnu Ka Tila, or visit Gurudwara Bangla Sahib, featuring a peaceful Sarovar or sacred pool that forms a stark contrast with the busy streets outside.

Lesser-known treasures

The hidden gems in Delhi will take your breath away. Immerse yourself in centuries of history among the ruins and wooded trails of Mehrauli Archaeological Park, or unwind in the Garden of Five Senses. Take a walk around the historic Purana Qila before stopping for lunch in Connaught Place.

For a dose of local culture, browse the stalls at Dilli Haat, where artisans from across India showcase their work. You’ll find traditional crafts, jewellery and textiles, plus an array of delectable regional cuisine.

Day 1

Start your three-day trip by touring the magnificent sights of Old Delhi. Be mesmerised by the Red Fort and Jama Masjid before exploring Chandni Chowk, where you can savour street food and regional dishes. Meander through the colourful Khari Baoli spice market, then go south for a tranquil stroll in Lodhi Garden.

Spend the afternoon at one of Delhi’s many museums before heading to Raj Ghat, the memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi.

Day 2

You can look forward to more relaxed sightseeing on your second day. Get a glimpse of the city's ancient architecture and striking feats of engineering at the Qutub Minar – one of the city’s most famous attractions.

Then it’s time for a leisurely walk around Humayun’s Tomb, before taking photos of the dramatic scenery at India Gate. In the evening, indulge in a delicious dinner at Connaught Place as you watch the world go by.

Day 3

On your third and final day, journey through the history and culture of India at the National Museum. Your kids will love a trip to the National Rail Museum, where you can uncover the story behind the railway, an important part of modern India. Take pictures at Agrasen ki Baoli, one of Delhi’s hidden gems and an ideal spot for an Instagram moment.

Finish the day off by roaming through Sanjay Van, Delhi’s very own forest, or revive yourself in the Garden of Five Senses.
