Food in Yanbu
You’ll never go hungry in Yanbu. The local cuisine blends international flavours with traditional Hijazi dishes. Neighbouring the Red Sea, the region’s culinary scene heavily relies on seafood, with lobster prawns and grilled fish taking centre stage on the menu. Don’t miss the local take on Kabsa, a classic Saudi dish, where fresh fish is served over fragrant rice seasoned with cinnamon, black pepper and saffron.
Other classic Saudi dishes abound in the city’s restaurants, including melt-in-the-mouth mandi, featuring lamb slow-cooked in a fire pit and served with delicately flavoured rice and vegetables.

Shopping in Yanbu is a blend of busy markets and modern malls. One of the city’s most popular spots for some casual browsing is its night market, where you’ll find a wide selection of stalls in the cool of the evening, selling local crafts, jewellery and textiles.
The Al-Balad souq is a traditional market that brings you an authentic experience with lots of haggling amid the scent of spices and perfume filling the air. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, try some of the freshest seafood on offer at the Yanbu fish market.
For a more modern, air-conditioned shopping experience, Yanbu’s malls are state-of-the-art spaces with a great selection of stores, boutiques and shops, showcasing both local products and international brands.
