Marvellous Manila

Start your adventure in the capital, Manila – a fascinating mix of colonial history, cultural landmarks, modern shopping and exclusive dining. Wander through the cobbled streets of Intramuros, the historic walled city and home to Fort Santiago.

Then, head to the National Museum complex, with fine art, anthropology and natural history all on display for you to learn more about Filipino culture. Try some authentic street food at Quiapo Market or sample spicy Chinese food in Binondo – the world’s oldest Chinatown.

Palawan

A gorgeous island full of deep lagoons and dramatic limestone cliffs, the landscape of Palawan invites you to uncover its secret footpaths that lead to deserted beaches. Escape to the tranquillity of Nacpan Beach on El Nido, or paddleboard in the emerald-green Kayangan Lake on Coron.

Palawan is also where you’ll find the stunning Puerto Princesa, home to the Underground River National Park. It's only fitting that it be considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature, with its 8.2km-long navigable underground waterway running under impressive limestone caves.

Boracay

Let yourself go into the softness of Boracay, famous for its powdery White Beach and idyllic sunset sceneries. In the evening, enjoy dazzling fire shows and live music. If you prefer water sports, Puka Shell Beach is the place for snorkelling and collecting shells.

You can also join excursions to nearby islands like Crystal Cove and Crocodile Island, witness the cliff divers at Ariel’s Point or trek up the Mount Luho Viewpoint for panoramic vistas of Boracay.

Cebu

Cebu is full of colonial architecture and natural wonders. If you’re feeling botanical, head to the hidden Sirao Flower Garden and the incredible 10,000 Roses of Cebu on nearby Mactan Island. Here, 10,000 LED roses light up the evening as part of a stunning art installation.

If you want to know what to do in Cebu in January, look out for the Sinulog Festival, a celebration of music, culture and local cuisine. Or visit the spectacular waterfalls of Cebu, namely the iconic Kawasan Falls.

Bohol

Delight in the various surprises of Bohol island, including Chocolate Hills – a cluster of 1,200 symmetrical hills that create a surreal and unique landscape.

Elsewhere, you can stroll through the manmade mahogany forest of Bilar – part of the Philippines’ efforts to re-establish the island’s delicate biodiversity – or take a trip to Hinagdanan Cave, a spectacular lagoon cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites.

Siargao Island

The surfing capital of the Philippines, Siargao Island is a water sports lovers’ dream. You can watch the professionals hang ten at the Cloud 9 surf break – home of some of the Philippines’ most dramatic waves.

Explore the tidal rock pools of Magpupungko, or embrace the serenity of Sugba Lagoon, a haven for kayaking, paddleboarding and snorkelling. It’s also the ideal base to spend a couple of days island hopping to nearby Daku Island and Guyam Island.
