While most of us tend to think of sausages and goulash when it comes to Czech cuisine, the country is fast-becoming a magnet for gastronomes. You’ll find plenty of upmarket restaurants serving sumptuous dishes but, if you want to get to grips with the country’s character, check out some of the more traditional offerings. “Pečená kachna se zelím a knedlíky” is a delicious combination of duck, dumplings, and sauerkraut, while “bramboráky” potato pancakes are a staple at festivals.
