Things to do in Hail

Its huge, crescent-shaped red dunes are perfect for high-octane 4x4 fun, and you can stay in traditional Bedouin campsites where at night, the clear desert skies are filled with stars. If a hike is something you can’t pass up, trek through Al Samara Park – a serene oasis with trails and magnificent views of the city from Jabal al Samra in the Shammar Mountains. Shopping in Hail

Stroll through the Hail Souq for a traditional shopping experience. The commercial centre has been at the very heart of trade since the earliest days of the ancient desert caravans. Here, you can find hand-woven fabrics, aromatic spices, artisan rugs, silverware and gold jewellery. The atmosphere is lively, the haggling frantic and there are bargains to be had. Wander away from the main souq and you’ll also find stalls along the streets and alleyways surrounding the main square.

A little further beyond, you’ll even find plenty of modern shopping options. The city is home to several large malls offering both local goods and high-end brands, from clothing to everyday essentials. They’re a great place to shop in comfort, thanks to the cool, air-conditioned interiors.
