Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer Announces Benefits for Retired Qatari Nationals During the Unveiling of Souq Al Matar
From January 2024, Qatari retirement card holders will be entitled to discounts of 25 per cent for First and Business class tickets, and 50 per cent for Economy class tickets on all Qatar Airways flights, along with other benefits

DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, announced a special package of benefits for Qatari retirees holding the official retirement card. This new offering is a tribute to the Qatari retirees for their dedication and service towards their country.
From January 2024, all Qatari retirement card holders will be entitled to discounts on all Qatar Airways flights, with discounts of 25 per cent for First and Business class, and 50 per cent for Economy class tickets to over 170 destinations worldwide.
In addition, Qatari holders of the retirement card will receive a 20 per cent discount on all food and beverage outlets and on some retail shops in Qatar Duty Free.
Qatar Airways Group will work closely with the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA) in order to ensure that all the proper documentation is met for these packages.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said: “It is our pleasure to announce this vast and exclusive package of Qatar Airways flights and QDF benefits to local retirees as a tribute to their dedication and years of hard work and service for this country. Additionally, local retirees will also become lifetime Silver status members of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and will be able to enjoy a wonderful range of benefits.”
These benefits were announced by Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer during the unveiling of the new Souq Al Matar located at Hamad International Airport.
Director General of the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), Mr. Ahmed Bin Ali Al Hammadi, said: “The Qatar Airways Group packages for Qatari retirees is endorsed and directed by the country’s Emir, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, showcasing appreciation and support for the national retirees in honour of their years of services to their country. We thank Qatar Airways for this initiative which underlines its role as our national carrier, one that every Qatari is proud of. We call on all institutions working in the country to propose similar initiatives.”
Yes, the discount is valid for all destinations on Qatar Airways’ network. It cannot be combined with special promotional offers.
Qatar Airways Group will coordinate with State of Qatar’s General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA) to assess eligible individuals.
