Things to do in Goa

Begin with beach-hopping by travelling to Palolem Beach, where the shore is lined with coconut trees and kayaking is a popular choice amongst locals. Come evening, the surrounding areas are filled with energy, from beachside barbecues to live music. Further south, you can find Agonda Beach, which is a top location for dolphin spotting and tranquil boat rides.

For a change of scenery, travel to Dudhsagar Falls, nestled in the Goan jungle. You can hike through the forest or take a jeep ride to reach this natural wonder.

Explore Goa’s cultural history in its capital Panaji. Set off on a walking tour of the impressive Portuguese architecture – a window into the region’s colonial past. While there, stop by Madragoa, a cultural space that showcases Goa’s Indo-Portuguese heritage through live performances of Mando and Fado music.

Activities in Goa

Goa’s coastlines offer incredible surfing spots as well as relaxing beach vibes. After catching some waves, head out on a boat trip to spot dancing dolphins or kayak through backwaters and mangroves.

A visit to Mollem National Park is a journey into Goa’s rich biodiversity. Visit the Flame-throated Bulbul sanctuary, Goa’s state bird, and admire the state tree, the Matti or Indian Laurel.

Goa is alive with greenery and life during the monsoon season, from June to September. If you are lucky enough to be there throughout the season, monsoon festivals fill the streets with music, dance and celebration. If you are visiting outside of monsoon season, head to the submerged village of Curdi as it only re-emerges from the waters once a year.

Fish curry and rice is a popular meal in Goa – it’s a must-try for all visitors. A traditional Goan thali, as locals call it, offers an authentic taste of this coastal enclave. Each bite bursts with the tang of tamarind, the heat of local spices and the freshness of the day’s catch.
