HAMBURG, Germany – Qatar Airways received two Gold Awards for its luxurious new First and Business Class amenity kits at the 2014 TravelPlus Awards. The airline won gold for its exclusive Italian designer Giorgio Armani Fragrances & Beauty First Class Male amenity kit and the Business Class Middle East amenity kit.
Qatar Airways, which remains one of the select few carriers with a Skytrax five-star ranking for service excellence was the only airline to receive two Gold Awards at the event, emphasising the airline’s high quality service among several world-class airlines.
The event, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Hamburg, Germany, took place during last week’s Aircraft Interiors Expo, which has firmly established itself as the leading event in the industry for showcasing the latest in aircraft interior design and products, and is now in its fifth year.
The Gold Awards were accepted by Rossen Dimitrov, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience at Qatar Airways, who said: “We are very proud that the jury has gold-certified two of our premium kits. This underlines our commitment to providing our passengers with the very best in order to make their individual journeys as pleasant as possible.”
Every element of the airline’s award-winning Giorgio Armani Fragrances & Beauty amenity kit has been given a signature touch. The exclusively designed kits supplied by Harmony, a gate group member, offer an unprecedented level of sophisticated luxury and comfort, ensuring passengers are kept refreshed and relaxed throughout their journey.
Featured within the kits are Giorgio Armani Fragrances & Beauty products from the mythic ‘Acqua di Gio’ and ‘Armani pour Homme’ together with Armani men skincare products, as well as eyeshades, socks and earplugs.
Assessment for the awards focused on the wishes and needs of travellers, with selection criteria adhering to trend, pleasure, luxury, usability and style, all from a traveller’s perspective. Focus groups of judges tested all the amenity kits on flights over the past 12 months.
