Doha, QATAR – Qatar Airways is preparing for its biggest ever participation at the Middle East’s premier travel trade event in Dubai next week with a new-look exhibition stand and show-stopping entertainment promoting its new routes for 2008.
A dramatic video wall will be a central feature of the new 200sqm two-tier stand at Arabian Travel Market (ATM) providing visitors with a visual glimpse of the airline’s award-winning facilities.
With the recent launch of flights between Doha and the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou (March 31) and the start of new non-stop services from the Qatari capital to Kozhikode (formerly Calicut) in southern India on June 15, and Houston in the United States coming on line from November 10, Qatar Airways will have great entertainment on its exhibition stand to reflect the new destinations.
Qatar Airways’ new corporate look will also be unveiled at the four-day show, where the airline will exhibit its long-haul First Class seat and a model of the New Doha International Airport, which is scheduled to open in 2010.
Visitors will also be able to use interactive touch screens on the stand to browse through Qatar Airways’ new inflight entertainment system – Oryx Entertainment, Multiplex in the Sky’ – currently onboard its Boeing 777s. Qatar Airways is among a select-few airlines to adopt the Panasonic eX2 system – the most comprehensive inflight entertainment system in the aviation industry today offering more than 700 audio and video options.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker, who will lead a head office delegation from Doha to Dubai, said Arabian Travel Market was a key industry event where the airline had enjoyed tremendous success over the years.
“Once again Qatar Airways is participating at ATM, now in its 15th year – a show which has grown from strength to strength with an excellent reputation around the world as the region’s premier travel trade event and one of the best organised in the world,” he said.
“This year, Qatar Airways is celebrating three route launches of Guangzhou, Kozhikode and Houston, together with increased frequencies on many existing routes to give our passengers greater choice.
“We are delighted to give visitors a glimpse of our new routes through the wonderful entertainment we will have on our brand new exhibition stand. We look forward to welcoming our industry associates during the trade days and members of the public during the remaining public days.”
Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre will be the venue for ATM taking place between May 6 – 9, during which travel industry professionals from around the world will hold high-profile business meetings with excellent networking opportunities. More than 24,000 visitors from over 100 countries are expected at the event.
