Qatar Airways Showcases Hospitality In Moscow

Doha, QATAR – Award-winning Qatar Airways, one of the fastest growing airlines in the world, is showcasing its Five Star hospitality at a leading travel trade show and luxury exhibition in Moscow this week with tens of thousands of visitors expected at both events.

Travel agents and tour operators from across Russia will converge on the Olympic Sports Complex “SC Olympiisky” for Leisure Moscow 2005, being held in the Russian capital between September 21 – 24 where the airline will promote its latest products and destinations. There will also be performances from a group of Sri Lankan dancers on the stand during the show.

And from September 24 – 28, Qatar Airways’ First Class flat bed seat will make its exhibition debut at the Millionaire Fair Moscow 2005, one of the world’s most prestigious shows where companies unveil their newest products and services targeting the rich and famous. The event, being held at the Crocus International Exhibition Centre, will include a raffle draw on the Qatar Airways stand for visitors to win First Class tickets anywhere on the airline’s global network.

Both shows will heighten Qatar Airways’ profile in the Russian market, where the airline flies five-times-a-week between its operational hub of Doha, capital of the State of Qatar, and Moscow.

Qatar Airways will be among hundreds of exhibitors at Leisure Moscow 2005 – now in its 11th year – which also marks the beginning of the winter holiday season. The show will give Qatar Airways the opportunity to promote its revised schedules on the Moscow – Doha route, giving passengers greater choice and flexibility with improved connections to a wider range of destinations on the airline’s global network from Qatar.

The Millionaire Fair Moscow 2005 is part of the international luxury event calendar providing an ideal platform for product launches, networking between buyers and sellers, drawing visitors with high incomes from Moscow, the regions and neighbouring countries. Visitors to the Qatar Airways stand will be served with First Class starters and drinks, as well as traditional Arabic coffee and dates.

Qatar Airways’ First Class seat, being showcased at the Millionaire Show, has a 79-inch pitch and widely acknowledged as one of the most spacious seats in the skies today.

Passengers can relax in the seats in a variety of comfort positions. For that long overnight flight, they can relax in the seats that recline, at a push of a button, 180 degrees into fully flat beds. The seats also offer the comforts of a ‘Five Star restaurant’ where passengers can dine on gourmet food with a fellow traveller sitting opposite in one of several ‘buddy’ seats.

The revised Moscow schedules now offer convenient connections over Doha to many of Qatar Airways’ network of flights across the Middle East, Far East, Indian Ocean islands and Indian subcontinent. Destinations covered include the Maldives, Seychelles, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, Bahrain, Bangkok, Singapore, Mumbai and Delhi.

The new schedules also provide excellent connections for the Russian market to Johannesburg, Cape Town and, from November 15, the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, which will be Qatar Airways’ newest route being launched this winter. The German capital, Berlin, joins the network on December 15.

Passengers flying from Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport are able to transit through Doha International Airport with minimum connecting times.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said both events promised to provide the airline with yet another opportunity to promote its award-winning services to the travel trade and consumers.

“The Millionaire Fair in Moscow will be an excellent opportunity to showcase our First Class seat to the elite of society in Russia and visitors from neighbouring countries,” he said.

“Leisure Moscow is a huge show, being held ahead of the busy outbound winter holiday season from Russia, and it gives us a great chance to strengthen our partnership with the travel industry which is, and remains, our most loyal partner.

“We rely on the full support of travel agents and tour operators to spread the services of our Five Star airline.”

Added Al Baker: “Qatar Airways is growing at a phenomenal pace, opening up new routes and adding many new aircraft every year.

“By attending these two important shows in Moscow, we are able to build and strengthen our relationships with existing partners and develop business with new ones.”
