Indonesia

It may come as a surprise that Bali in Indonesia isn’t all romantic strolls on the beach and honeymoon suites in the jungle. It is one of the most renowned destinations for solo travelers due to its transport infrastructure, landscape diversity and friendly culture. Tourism in Bali has made it fairly easy to get around the island on your own, with plenty of tours and transportation options that will not put you out of pocket. We recommend taking a tour up to Mount Agung at sunrise for a view you will not soon forget. If mountain climbing is not for you, venture to one of the local spas and hot springs. Bali is well known for its beachfront spas, yoga retreats and other health and wellness centers, catering for that perfect R-and-R solo trip.

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is an incredible destination for solo travelers to explore, with the country’s mix of captivating culture and exotic nature. Visitors have the choice of relaxing on one of the lush, tropical beaches or setting foot on an outdoor adventure. Colombo has many trains and local tour operators which provide easy transportation to nearby cities and iconic landmarks.  Mount Lavinia beach, which is renowned for its tranquil coastline and hip beachfront eateries, is definitely worth visiting. If adventure is on your agenda, take a hiking tour to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Sigiriya Rock, to admire the cultural beauty of Sri Lanka. On your way to the top, you will encounter the Lion’s staircase, ruins of Sky Palace and, of course, the panoramic view of Colombo below. Wherever you choose to explore in Sri Lanka, be sure to indulge in plenty of traditional Ceylon tea along the way.

Australia

When traveling alone, Australia is a great place to explore. The friendly culture coupled with the plethora of sightseeing hot spots puts this country on top of every solo traveler’s bucket list. Take a trip to the hip, urban city of Melbourne and indulge in some of the world’s best cuisine and renowned local coffee. Explore the nearby Yarra Valley and take a hot air balloon ride above the picturesque scenery, meet some of the local wildlife and taste the local produce. Navigating your way around Melbourne is fairly simple, with many tours and day trips available to Yarra Valley and beyond.  Tram transportation is the best way to commute around the city. Alternatively, take flight to the spectacular city of Sydney to witness the awe-inspiring sights of the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbor Bridge. The lively atmosphere makes it a great place for solo travelers to explore, with plenty of sights to see within a central city location.

Thailand

Thailand is a perfect destination for solo travelers to explore with its friendly, local culture and unique, picturesque landmarks. Find your own way around the city in Phuket, Bangkok or Krabi by traveling on the Skytrain, or even by tuk tuk. There are also plenty of tours in Thailand, providing the perfect opportunity to meet new people from around the world. They also allow to travel to unique corners of Thailand that you otherwise may not have discovered. Make sure you try the local Thai street food – it’s affordable, authentic and delicious.

Singapore

Singapore is an ideal destination to take advantage of the eye-opening benefits of solo travel. Discover the city’s fast-paced culture and unique history down the hidden laneways and along the bustling streets. Spend some time strolling through Singapore’s Chinatown, taste your way through Little India, window shop along Orchard Road and eat at one of the many local food courts. Gardens by the Bay is another place that must not to be missed. Spend some time admiring the architectural wonder of the iconic SuperTree Grove.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a fitting city for solo travelers. Being the busy metropolis that it is, Hong Kong can be difficult to navigate in large groups. Traveling alone provides the opportunity to explore more than you could with one or more companions. Spend most of your time exploring the Kowloon Peninsula; hike to the Victoria Peak, explore the Botanical Gardens and wander through the Central district. Venture to SoHo for a taste of Hong Kong’s delectable local cuisine. Whilst SoHo’s eateries are often crowded, solo travelers are bound to find a spot to dine. Stop by a traditional Hong Kong teahouse along the way for an authentic milk tea and a sweet treat.

Pakistan is unexpectedly home to a wealth of attractions and beautiful places for solo travelers to explore, from ornate historical landmarks to beautiful natural wonders. Take flight to the captivating Malaysian city of Langkawi. With its unique mix of nature, wildlife and history, it is a great destination for solo travelers. Spend your days relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Pantai Cenang and Tanjung – the spotless sands are something of an attraction in themselves. For some authentic R-and-R, visit the Air Hangat Village for relaxing activities such as a saltwater hot springs.
