Discover Singapore’s huge, evolving art scene

From the iconic Gardens by the Bay’s Supertrees to its surrounding art sculptures and the awe-inspiring National Gallery, Singapore’s evolving arts scene has influenced the city to become a creative hub.

The National Gallery showcases an abundance of art created by local Southeast Asian artists, and the building itself pays homage to the country’s history. The gallery is hosted within the former Supreme Court and City Hall, which were repurposed to make room for the visual arts institution.

Encouraging creative minds to explore the Singapore cityscape, the modern art space has continued to evolve. Visitors can interact with seasonal installations dotted around the Gardens by the Bay at all times of the year, and unexpectedly find beautiful street murals hidden amongst the towering city skyscrapers.

Whilst you are there, wander down Orchard Road, known for its shopping malls but also home to some of the top artwork sculptures from all over the globe.

Explore India’s iconic, Bollywood architecture

This colorful destination is bound to attract admirers of art and culture from all over the globe, but where to go to see the best of this cultural goldmine is the looming question for many visitors. Mumbai is the birthplace of many Bollywood films, meaning that grand colonial and art deco buildings are not hard to come by there.

Take a trip to the Oval Maidan, a recreational ground that offers amalgamating views of Victorian Gothic buildings on one side and art deco buildings on the other.

Of course, you cannot miss visiting one of the iconic temples, such as the Taj Mahal Palace which is not to be mistaken with the famous Taj Mahal in Agra. This temple is one of the city’s striking landmarks, and its surrounding area in South Mumbai is home to many art galleries and museums.

We also recommend wandering through one of the many bazaars to admire the vivid homespun fabrics and intricate handicrafts.
