House Of Boucheron Designs For Reach Out To Asia Gala Dinner Charity Auction

Doha, QATAR – Organisers of Reach Out To Asia’s (ROTA) celebrity Gala Dinner have revealed that a number of Boucheron jewellery masterpieces are to go under the auctioneer’s hammer at the star-studded charity auction event in Doha this weekend.

Fashioned in yellow gold and rubies, the DELILAH TROUBLE has been specially created for Reach Out To Asia as an iconic gesture from the prestigious House of Boucheron.

The stunning set, comprising necklace, earrings and bracelet, is unique and totally desirable, and will be a must-have acquisition for the true connoisseur of couture jewellery.

With VIP and celebrity guests from around the world in attendance at the November 4 event, being held at The Ritz Carlton Hotel, bidding is expected to be vigorous.

The full beauty of the finished set will only be revealed at the auction, with ROTA’s organisers preferring to provide only a hint of what is to come through an artist’s sketch.

The second set is the WHITE GOLD VINE - an exclusive diamond set from Boucheron’s latest high-end jewellery collection, displaying a premium array of diamonds in an organically-inspired design.

The necklace, an elegant white gold vine that rests at the base of the neck and winds down the left collar bone is stunning in design and form. Pear diamond earrings paved with multicolor diamonds accompany the necklace and, to complete the set, a pear diamond ring paved with multicolor diamonds set on white gold.

The charity organisation’s 2005 Inaugural Gala Dinner, which was attended by former US President Bill Clinton and entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson, raised a staggering US$10 million. This year’s event features an array of exclusive items from prestigious global brands such as Boucheron, Ferrari, Harley Davidson, Maserati and Ducatti, and promises to far surpass that amount.

With just weeks to go before Qatar stages the 15th Asian Games in Doha, this year’s Reach Out To Asia charity dinner will further help turn the global spotlight on Qatar.

The Sotheby’s-run auction, is expected to be the highlight of a glamorous, red carpet event. Celebrities, sportsmen, politicians and VIPS will gather in Doha on Saturday to raise funds for ROTA’s various aid projects throughout Asia and the Middle East.

Among the guests attending are Australian-born singer Natalie Imbruglia, who will perform on the night, fashion icon Pierre Cardin, South Africa’s Archbishop Desmond Tutu, legendary Tour De France cyclist Eddie Merckx, Italian Olympic Gold Medalist Gelindo Bordin, 2006 World Superbike Champion Troy Bayliss, Supermodel Adriana Karembeu and her husband Christian, the former French national footballer.

Along with the former stars of European football, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Gabriel Batistuta, Ronald de Boer and Jay Jay Okacha, they will join guests for what promises to be an evening to remember.

Former England soccer managers Sven-Goran-Eriksson and Glenn Hoddle, together with ex-French national coach Michel Hidalgo will also grace the red carpet event.

A non-governmental organisation based in Qatar, Reach Out To Asia was founded under the patronage of The Heir Apparent, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and chaired by his sister, Her Excellency Sheikha Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

Sheikha Mayassa has been the guiding force behind the charity’s success, helping organise high-profile fund-raising campaigns and visits to regions across Asia to help those in need.
