Things to do in Lagos

It’s a combination of amala, a soft, stretchy swallow made from yam flour, paired with gbegiri, a creamy soup made from black-eyed beans, ewedu – blended, seasoned jute leaves – and obe ata, a rich tomato-based meat stew.

Next, try the classic pairing of eba and okra soup. The okra is made into a stew with either meat, seafood or both. It’s served with eba, another dough-like carbohydrate made from cassava flour. This is a meal best eaten with your hands. Think of the eba as a spoon you use to scoop up the rich, velvety sauce. If you like spicy, umami flavours, you’ll love Nigerian food.
