IATA Travel Pass

In early 2021, Qatar Airways was the first Middle Eastern airline to trial the IATA’s Digital Passport mobile app, a major milestone in reinvigorating global travel. The digital platform offers a safe, secure, convenient, and contactless way for international travelers to provide their vaccination credentials. Qatar Airways passengers using IATA Travel Pass can rest assured their data, including COVID-19 test results, is completely protected. They will also benefit from the app’s up-to-date information on COVID-19 health regulations at their destination country.

We take every precaution to keep you and our crew members safe, comfortable, and healthy. Here is what you can expect on a Qatar Airways flight.

The utmost protection for our passengers and crew

At Qatar Airways, we have implemented and strictly follow many onboard hygiene measures and health standards. We require passengers to wear a face mask at all times, from boarding to disembarking at their destination. The only exception is when passengers are eating or drinking.

We distribute complimentary protective kits containing a single-use face mask, large disposable powder-gloves, and alcohol-based hand sanitizer gel to all passengers. Every crew member is outfitted in personal protective equipment (PPE) suits, in addition to masks, protective glasses, and gloves.

Touch-less technology for in-flight entertainment

We offer zero-touch technology with our Oryx One in-flight entertainment system, found across our A350 fleet. The touch-free technology enables A350 passengers to pair their personal electronic device with their seat-back screen. All you have to do is connect to our Wi-Fi, scan a QR code, then use your personal device to navigate our 4,000-plus entertainment options.

Advanced air filtration systems and safe ultraviolet sanitizing

Service equipment is washed at high temperatures to kill pathogenic bacteria. Our aircraft feature advanced, industrial-sized HEPA air filtration systems that remove 99.97% of viral and bacterial contaminants from re-circulated air.

Additionally, we are the first global carrier to operate Honeywell’s latest Ultraviolet (UV) chemical-free cabin-sanitizing technology. The newest version introduces more reliability, flexibility, and mobility, with extended UV wings that treat both narrow and wide areas on board.

HIA safety precautions

Thermal screening
All arriving and departing passengers are screened using advanced thermal helmets equipped with infrared thermal imaging.

Constant sanitization
All handrails, baggage belts, trolleys, and surfaces are disinfected and sanitized every 15 minutes. Disinfectant robots emit ultraviolet C to eliminate infectious microorganisms.

Physical distancing
Physical distancing is required at all times. Installed signage, floor markings, and spaced-out seating help ensure distance.

Baggage disinfection
All departure, arrival and transfer baggage is disinfected at HIA.
