Discover the stadiums
Khalifa International Stadium
Built in 1976, Khalifa International Stadium has long been the cornerstone of Qatar’s sporting tradition. The 40,000-seat arena has an illustrious hosting history, having previously welcomed the Asian Games, Arabian Gulf Cup, AFC Asian Cup and IAAF World Athletics Championships, among other events. Following an extensive redevelopment, including the installation of state-of-the-art cooling technology, the stadium reopened in May 2017 to become the first tournament-ready venue for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, where it will host matches through to the quarter-finals stage.
Education City Stadium
The 40,000-capacity arena, nicknamed the 'Diamond in the Desert', will become the third FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ stadium to open when it hosts the second FIFA Club World Cup 2019™ semi-final on 18 December. Situated in the heart of Education City, a vibrant centre of knowledge and innovation, and home to many international universities, Education City Stadium will be capable of hosting matches up to the quarter-finals stage in 2022. After the tournament, the stadium’s modular upper tier will be removed and used to create sporting facilities both in Qatar and overseas.
Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium
Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, commonly known as Al Sadd Stadium, is the home of reigning Qatar Stars League champions Al Sadd. Over the years, the 13,000-capacity venue has hosted a number of prestigious domestic and international football fixtures, including the Amir Cup, AFC Champions League ties and the final of the SuperCoppa Italiana. The ground has been developed extensively down the years, with the latest renovation happening in 2010.
