At the airport

Here are some friendly reminders to keep in mind as you embark on your Qatar Airways experience:

  • Please ensure you have all necessary documents and visas for each country you plan to visit, and have these documents handy during check-in.
  • For passengers travelling to Qatar, bear in mind that your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from date of entry into Qatar, and this varies by destination.
  • Report at check-in counter at least three hours prior to your scheduled departure time


Washington Dulles International Airport

Qatar Airways check-in desks are located in Zone 2 of the departures/ticketing level of the Main Terminal. Check-in desk closes one hour before the scheduled departure time.

Amenities available for all passengers:

  • Wireless Internet throughout the Main Terminal and "A" Concourse
  • A religious facility located in the "A" Concourse
  • Currency exchanges located throughout the Main Terminal and "A" Concourse
  • A Business Center located in the lower level of the Main Terminal, offering various business services
  • The "Dulles Diamond" security line for experienced solo travelers with only one carry-on bag who are “3-1-1 ready” (for liquids/gels, laptops out of case and shoes off), located on the lower level of the Main Terminal, adjacent to Baggage Claim 7.


For connecting passengers arriving from the "C" and "D" Concourses, you can take "A" Concourse shuttles (which stop at the "B" Concourse) rather than going all the way back to the Main Terminal.

From the Main Terminal, the Dulles AeroTrain provides quick and easy access to the "A" Gates. The AeroTrain System is located beyond the security checkpoints. Departing passengers should follow signs "TO ALL GATES" then look for signage to the "A" Gates.

John F. Kennedy International Airport - New York

Qatar Airways customers will check-in for their flight in the Main Terminal inside Terminal 8, which is conveniently located in front of the entrance to the TSA security checkpoint. Check-in facilities for Qatar Airways will be located at the ticket counters in Row 5.

Qatar Airways departs daily from Gate 16. Once you have passed through the TSA Security Checkpoint you will take a right inside the terminal. Gate 16 is located just a few steps away. Irregular operations can occur, so please check the departure monitors in the terminal for gate information to ensure you are at the correct gate. Upon check-in Qatar Airways personnel will advise what gate to proceed to once through TSA Security.

George Bush Intercontinental Airport - Houston

Qatar Airways check-in desk is located in the departures level of Terminal D. The check-in desk closes one hour before the scheduled departure time.

  • Currency exchanges located throughout the airport
  • Well stocked conveniently located news stands
  • Multi-lingual Special Service Representatives


Please note that all international arrivals are processed through the Federal Inspection Services (FIS) Building at Terminal E.

Keep your documents handy

Before you embark on your journey make sure that you have all the necessary documents and visas for all the countries you plan to visit.

Premium Terminal

Customers travelling First and Business Class on Qatar Airways will experience 5-star hospitality at the new Premium Terminal in Doha from the moment they walk into the terminal until they depart.

Internet booking

If you purchased your ticket on qatarairways.com, please make sure you bring the credit card used to make the booking. Failure to produce your credit card may lead to travelling delays or denial to board your flight.
