TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN

We understand that travelling with children can be challenging and hope that the following information helps to put your mind at ease.

Peace of mind

We operate one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the sky, offering you and your family 5-star comfort and space.

Easing the airport experience for your family

  • Priority boarding:
Passengers travelling with young children or infants will be offered priority boarding.
  • Baby strollers:
We offer baby strollers as a courtesy for families travelling with young children. Please ask our staff for assistance when you arrive at Doha International Airport.
  • Playtime:
Your children will love the indoor playground at the Doha International Airport departures and transfers terminal. Qatar Airways First and Business Class passengers travelling with children will have access to nursery facilities at the Premium Terminal at Doha International Airport.

Unaccompanied children and minors

  • Ages 3-5 years old:
A designated Qatar Airways employee will escort your child through the entire journey—from check-in to pick-up by the appointed guardian at the arrival destination.
  • Ages 5-15 years old:
Qatar Airways employees will guide your child to and from the aircraft, through immigration services, and to meet their appointed guardian at the arrival destination. Our attentive cabin crew will help your child feel safe and comfortable while onboard.

Tips for travelling with children

  1. Explain the travel process
Travelling will be much easier if your child knows what to expect.
  2. Arrive early
Check-in early to reserve a window seat. Watching the world from 11,000 m (35,000 ft) is fascinating for a child.
  3. Prepare your child for takeoff and landing
Children’s ears are more sensitive to changes in pressure than adult ears. To prevent discomfort during take off and landing, we suggest giving infants a bottle and children some gum or a sweet to suck.
  4. Don’t forget the essentials
While we do offer supplies and entertainment onboard, your child will enjoy the flight even more if you remember to bring some toys, books, games, wet wipes, and other necessities.
  5. Ask our cabin crew for assistance
    They’ll be happy to help.
