Expectant Mothers

Flying while pregnant

You and your unborn child’s safety are our priority.

To avoid unnecessary risks to you and your baby, we recommend that all expectant mothers consult a doctor before booking their ticket.

Please see below for our guidelines on accepting pregnant travellers.

Pregnancy stage Guidelines
Up to and including the 28th week
  • No medical certificate is required. However, we recommend that you carry a doctor's certificate/maternity card to avoid delays at check-in.
Beginning of 29th up to end of 32nd week
  • A medical certificate is required. Download a medical certificate form.
  • If you have or are experiencing pregnancy complications, we also require a completed Medical Information Form (MEDIF).
  • A MEDIF is available at your nearest Qatar Airways office. The form must be completed by your doctor and then submitted to your nearest Qatar Airways office for processing.
  • The MEDIF must be completed and submitted to Qatar Airways no less than 48 hours and no more than 7 days to departure.
Beginning of 33rd up to end of 35th week
  • A medical certificate is required. Download a medical certificate form.
  • We also require a completed Medical Information Form (MEDIF).
  • A MEDIF is available at your nearest Qatar Airways office. The form must be completed by your doctor and then submitted to your nearest Qatar Airways office for processing.
  • Multiple or complicated pregnancies will not be accepted for travel.
  • The MEDIF must be completed and submitted to Qatar Airways no less than 48 hours and no more than 7 days to departure.
Beginning of 36th week and beyond
  • Qatar Airways flights cannot accept expectant mothers in their 36th week of pregnancy or beyond for travel.
