Salzburg: Mozart is synonymous with Salzburg. This perfectly preserved Baroque city with a vibrant Old Town is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site with spacious squares and gardens, tiny shops, antiques and crafts, fashions.
The Salzach River, flowing from the Prealps in the south, winds through the city as its historic lifeline and separates it into two halves, the so-called left and right banks of the Salzach. The Old City is picturesquely surrounded by the Mönchsberg, crowned by the Fortress which is visible for miles, and the mighty Capuchin Mountain on the right banks of the river.
And for nature lovers there is a beautiful range of Nordic walking tours, mountain biking trails and intricate network of valley paths (some 750 km all in all) wait to be explored and enjoyed.
Vienna: Vienna is located at the intersection of major European routes: Berlin to Venice route and Paris to Budapest. The Wachau, the most beautiful part of the Danube valley, is nearby. Near the Alps and with a large steppe lake, Lake Neusiedl is on its doorstep.
Vienna‘s historic center has been added to UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage list and is considered one of the most beautiful city landmarks in Europe. Three eras left their mark on the former residence of the Habsburgs: the Middle Ages with Gothic St. Stephen‘s Cathedral, one of Vienna‘s landmarks; the Baroque whose most important achievement is the Imperial Palace with its sumptuous cupolas.
Zell am See: The idyllic mountain town of Zell is situated in the centre of the Pinzgau Valley at 758m above sea-level. The valley is drained by the Saalach and Salzach rivers into the famous Lake Zell. The snow-capped peaks of the ‘Hohe Tauern’ mountains, including Austria‘s highest mountain, Grossglockner, rise up in the south. The biologically and hygienically perfectly uncontaminated water of Lake Zell are crystal clear drinking water. In summer this Alpine lake invites visitors to take a boat ride and ship cruise on the Zeller Lake, go diving, water-skiing, sailing or rowing in or on its pleasantly warm water.
And close by is Kitzbuehel, the outstanding golf city of the Alps. Look forward to choosing between four local golf courses and a further 19 within an hour’s drive.
